The En-Gen Pulse is an interactive energy monitoring system. This data art product displays the user’s residential energy consumption data through an eye-catching display that lives in the home.

You most likely use a whole host of electric appliances throughout the day. The only real information you receive about what you are using comes in the form of an electric bill, which provides very little context as to how you used your energy throughout the month. The Pulse provides real-time feedback as to what kind of energy you are consuming and how much. It also allows the user to create energy use goals, and track progress towards the completion of these goals. Being more informed about what we use is one small step closer to solving the greater energy problems we face.

The Pulse is for anyone looking to be more informed, more energy conscious, and more in tune with their energy use patterns. This product is designed for residential use, however the concept can easily be scaled to track energy consumption at the corporate or industrial level as well.
